Butterflies

Mainsail Studio Butterfly Wings are made from my butterfly illustrations printed on a variety of fabrics with a wingspan up to 72” wide. The most luxurious wings are made with velvet. Wings with a cape-like drape are made with a matte silky fabric. Children love my minky wings which are made out of the same fabric as a super soft blanket.

Adult size wings printed on silky faille. These look like a cape but spread into wings using the finger loops.

Jewel tone rainbow wings in the upright style. These wings went all the way to Jamaica.

Rainbow moth is printed on fuzzy fleece fabric. They have a blanket like texture.

These are my most popular wings. I’ve sent them to customers on every continent except Antarctica.

During peak seasons I don’t have enough room inside to spread and dry the wings. So I line my long driveway with blankets and then roll out the fabric on top. I try to reduce fabric waste by adding other illustrations to the blank areas around the printed butterflies. Here you see some of the toddler wings and ovals to make fabric balls.
